Peter Arthurs Instrument Repairs

About Me

Hi there!  My name is Peter Arthurs.  I am the the chief instrument technician of Peter Arthurs Instrument Repairs.  I have been repairing brass instrument for over five years now and have enjoyed every minute of it.  I pay homage to my tutor and mentor Desmond Graham for teaching me the trade.

Firstly I am a musician.  Ever since I can remember, music has always been in my head and heart, so it was only natural that I developed this skill and studied a BMus at University of Ulster.  While I was studying I played the trumpet regularly and even spent a year playing with the Ulster Youth Orchestra and Studio Symphony Orchestra.

I have been attending Third Carrickfergus Band for fifteen years now and I currently hold the position of Soprano Cornet.  I am also the principal trumpeter of The Ballymena Chamber Orchestra.

As well as the obvious love of music, I have been interested in art and design for years.  I have achieved qualifications in this subject area too, such as GNVQ Art & Design Advanced level.  I often wondered how I could combine both these subjects together and it was at a trumpet lesson with Desmond Graham that my questions were answered and I started repairing instruments.

The rest, as they say, is history!!!
